The child/children's safety are the most important. So, when you babysit, you should always try to keep a first-aid kit, including; Band-aids, gauze, hydrogen peroxide, hand sanitizer, children's tylenol, and ibeprofun.
YOUR SAFETY
Before you even accept the sitting job, make sure you know the parents well enough to the point where you know you will be in a safe environment.
